Evaluation question 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
From the prelim task, creating a shot library I have gained a better understanding of the use of each technique and how to incorporate them in a product to represent certain aspect of the narrative and highlight characteristics of our chosen genre. In my progression exploring many aspect of what would be the full product I have practiced analysing these techniques and have learned how to apply them.
Evaluation question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
What we have learned by researching and creating our film Noir media product is the history of it that was based in the 40’s/50’s. Back then the technology was well underdeveloped than what technical machinery and display we have now to our capacity. Our film Noir product has now been edited to black and white imagery to resemble the black and white movies form the original film Noir movies, when images could be shown in black and white as it was then easier to find an old style of camera being able to film in black and white only. Editing wasn’t fully developed back then. In our technical process we found that the focus on shadows and highlights in screen were a major key point to represent the genre we chose with success.
Point 36: Evidence of film shooting
The process of shooting our Film Noir went pretty well in terms of teamwork and communication. The preparation of our film was a bit tightly scedualed by the end of the deadline but all came together nicely as our group put effort in all the aspects of the process.
With this being our first draft of the film we are quite satisfied and ready to put in improvement where needed.
